The fastest road route on to Skye is via the Skye Toll Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh. There is a ferry crossing (Caledonian MacBrayne) from Mallaig to Armadale at the South of the Island.
If time permits, there is a wonderful (summer only) small ferry service from Glenelg to Kylerea (turn off A87 at Glen Sheil). Skye Ferry Website

Easyjet fly from London Luton Airport to Inverness daily.
Easy Car Hire available at Inverness Airport. British Airways operate a service from London Gatwick to Inverness Inverness is about three hours drive away by hire car, alternatively you can travel from here to Portree by Coach or to Kyle by train - and public transport is available stopping right outside the hotel.
